Group Exercise Class Descriptions


Aqua Aerobics Classes

Aqua Aerobics: 45 minutes of cardiovascular conditioning with low impact aerobics, stretching and toning.

Aqua Burn: 45 minutes of high intensity, low impact aerobics combined with interval training and 15 minutes of upper/lower body toning.

Aqua Mature: For the "young at heart" - work at a level that meets your individual needs.

Aqua Start: A class for beginners or participants that desire less intensity.

H2O Moves: 45 minutes of water walking aerobics combined with lateral movements increasing in intensity for added cardiovascular endurance.

Floor Exercise Classes

Introduction to Step: A beginning level step and muscle toning class with easy to follow routines. The class is only scheduled when requested by two or more students. If interested, please leave your name and number at the Front Desk.

Pilates: A method of body conditioning that includes stretching and strengthening exercises designed to tone muscles, improve posture, provide flexibility and balance, unite body and mind, and create a more streamlined shape. The emphasis is placed on strengthening the "powerhouse" (abs, back, and buttocks). Movement is done with control and concentration.

Step 2: A moderate intensity step class for cardiovascular endurance and conditioning. Participants at varying fitness levels who have the basic skills of step aerobics are welcome, but encouraged to work at a pace appropriate for their level.

Instructor's Choice: Your instructor selects the format of the class. A varied workout all!

Double Step: A fun step workout utilizing two or more steps. Basic step skills are necessary.

Hello Hi/Lo: A steady paced cardiovascular aerobic conditioning class. Low impact is without elevation (jumping). All levels.

Hi/Lo Circuit: A cross training class that integrates aerobics and weight training. All levels.

Kickboxing: An excellent way to burn calories while having fun. All levels.

Muscle Strengthening: Emphasis on increasing strength, tone and flexibility. Free weights, resist-a-bands, body bars, and/or balls may be used. All exercisers are welcome!

Power Abds: A half-hour class devoted to the abdominal and back muscles. All levels.

Cardio Combo: A cardiovascular and strengthening class integrating Step,Hi/Lo,Sport Moves,Jump Ropes,Weights, Body Bars and/or Resist-a-Bands.

Yoga: For total mind and body. Includes muscle balance, skeletal alignment, muscle strength, muscle elasticity, increased range of motion, improved coordination and improved functioning of internal glands and organs. Relax deeply and passively to refresh and restore. (Yoga Start is for beginners.)

Spinning: A cycling program that combines heart rate training (heart monitors recommended) and a series of movements delivering an effective and intelligent training regimen. All levels.
